Mountain View Raceway Off This Saturday And Returns On July 16

SPRING CITY, TN – Mountain View Raceway will take a break in the 2022 racing action this Saturday night, but will return with a Regular Weekly Points Race on Saturday night, July 16. The Late Model, Sportsman, 4-Cylinder, Thunder, Front-Wheel-Drive, and Developmental Sportsman Divisions will be competing on the ¼-mile high-banked clay oval.

The defending and three-time Track Champion Barry Goodman of Spring City, TN is the Late Model point leader. Goodman took the win on July 2 driving the Charlie’s Used Auto Parts CVR powered by an economical all-aluminum Chevrolet Performance CT 525 Circle Track Engine.

Goodman has 476 points and holds an 82 point lead over Jeff Jackson of Ooltewah, TN. Jackson is second with 394 points driving the Jackson Racing Longhorn and Addison Cardwell of Knoxville, TN is third in the Late Model standings with 354 points in the Jake Miller Excavating Longhorn.

Cardwell leads the Sportsman Division standings with 440 points driving his Cardwell Racing Rocket. Brandon Stanfield of Soddy Daisy, TN is second with 384 points in the Frizzell Excavating Mastersbilt and third is Bradley Goodman of Spring City, TN driving the Goody’s Power Sweeping Rocket.

Jimmy Dalton of Powell, TN drove the Willett Powder Coating Elite to victory in the Open-Wheel Modified Main Event on July 2 to pad his point lead over Kyle Shadden of Dayton, TN. Dalton has 484 points and Shadden has 406 points driving the Suttle’s Dirtworkx. Scott Iles of Evensville, TN is third with 356 points in the Construction Unlimited Lightning.

The Open-Wheel Modified Division will be off on Saturday night, July 16 at Mountain View Raceway and return to action on Saturday night, July 23 with a Regular Weekly Points Race on the ¼-mile high-bank clay oval.

Landon Fitzgerald of Dayton, TN is the 4-Cylinder Division point leader with 182 points in the Fitzgerald Marine Detailing and Restoration KDR. Devin Ellis of Madisonville, TN is second with 118 points driving the Ellis Racing Mustang and Gracie Duggan of Lenoir City, TN is third with 98 points in the Duggan Racing Special.

The B-Hobby Division will return to action on July 23 after taking getting a few weeks off to help their car count. Brady Lee of Knoxville, TN is the point leader in the Lee’s Mountain Retreat Camaro with 244 points. Kenneth Daniels of Spring City, TN is second with 216 points in the Daniels Racing Caprice and Jim Gilbert of Rossville, GA is third with 184 points in the Rat Rod Chevelle.

Casey Cash of Spring City, TN leads the Thunder Division standings with 416 points driving the Duncan Family Automotive Camaro. Chris Williams of Soddy Daisy, TN is second with 408 points in the Anneke Wilkey Monte Carlo and Scott Smith of Soddy Daisy, TN is third driving the Crouse Automotive Monte Carlo with 366 points.

Josh Scealf of Decatur, TN is the Front-Wheel-Drive Division points leader with 564 points driving the J&S Towing Honda and red hot Nathan Adams of Crossville, TN is second with 546 points. Adams will be looking for his 12th win of the season in the Adams Racing Chevrolet on July 16. Jacob Sharp of Crossville, TN is third in the Sharp Race Cars Chevrolet with 342 points.

Nine-year-old Frankie Sharp of Crossville, TN leads the Junior Front-Wheel-Drive standings with 386 points in the Sharp Race Cars Chevrolet. Steven Clowers of Englewood, TN is second with 378 points in the Clowers Racing Special and Chevy Adams of Crossville, TN is third with 366 points driving the Adams Racing Chevrolet.

On Saturday night, July 16 the Pit Gate opens at 3 p.m. and the Grandstand and Tier Parking Gates open at 4 p.m. The Mandatory Pre-Race Registration and Technical Inspection will be from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. The Drivers Meeting is set for 6:15 p.m. and Hot Laps are scheduled for 6:45 p.m.

Pit Passes are $25 for Adults, $15 for Children 6-11, and Children 5 and under are admitted Free. The General Admission and Tier Parking ticket prices are $10 for race fans 12 and older, Children 6-11 are $5. and Children 5 and under are admitted Free. All Children must be accompanied by an Adult.
