I think this may be temporary. If u got a problem w someone just ban them from coming and if someone cause trouble throw them out like ZERO had mentioned
One thing’s for sure: there are a lot of people, when it comes to culture, who have no clue what north and south means.
Perspective is everything. In this thread alone, I have read that Carolina Speedway is "hanging on by a thread" and that it is " going strong." That is not a slap at the guys that posted, but pointing out that one man's pleasure is another man's pain. And so we have social media. You cannot read or listen and get the whole truth, as each person has their version.
Don't believe anything you hear and only half of what you see!
Dirt tracks within 45 minutes of Charlotte appear to be working together pretty well. They don’t run every week and normally those are big nights for other tracks in the area. They appear to complement each other a lot.
Being cultured up north is jumping in a taxi after a fancy rooftop meal and heading to the met for La Boheme…being cultured down south is jumping in the boat before dawn, heading to our favorite spot and cooking up a crab benedict breakfast and sipping champagne mimosas to Luke Combs while watching the sun come up……
You can find culture anywhere if you want to, nobody owns the rights to it.
On a positive note I did see they are building a new track somewhere in central South Carolina. Good to see something new for sure.
That track in Chester was about as racey of a joint as I’ve ever been to in SC…..Hated to see that one get gone.
I never got to see racing at riverside, I was in the area the day after their last race so I went by and just walked around the track and stands for about an hour and took some pictures etc…..it looked like you could carry some speed around that place.
Dublin is the one I miss the most……those weekly battles between Autry, Bowen and Travis Hair back when it reopened were something to see.
^^^^
While I never attended Dublin in person, I do remember seeing videos on an old Carolina racing website, now long gone, of that joints weekly shows the 1st couple of years after it reopened. Scott Autry had that place figured out and was tough to beat. Recall seeing him at many Carolina Clash races back in the day. Looked like some great racing there and always said I wanted to attend a race. Hate that its just sitting now.
Anybody got any info on that new track in Orangeburg SC?
