Fastrak Awards Banquet At The Park Vista Hotel Is On For Jan. 21!!

CARNESVILLE, GA – The Annual Fastrak/Ultimate Awards Banquet is on as scheduled at the Park Vista Hotel in Gatlinburg, TN on January 21. The “Night of Champions” will also include a day of seminars, as the schedule has been adjusted since the information was originally released. The seminars and the Awards Banquet will now all be on the same day.

The Park Vista Hotel opened back up for business on Wednesday after a clean-up effort took place due to some smoke damage from the tragic wildfires that swept through Gatlinburg last month. The Park Vista Hotel was surrounded by flames that were well-documented by the national media, but there was no fire damage to the building itself.

The first seminars will take place on the morning of January 21 at 10 a.m. with Marketing for Tracks and Race Teams, and an Engine Builders Meeting. Fastrak will host a Rules Meeting at 1 p.m. The evening festivities will begin at 5 p.m. when the cash bar opens, and the Night of Champions Fastrak/Ultimate Awards Banquet gets under way at 6 p.m.

A plethora of awards will be presented to Fastrak Pro Late Model Series drivers, Ultimate Super Late Model Series drivers, and Ultimate Battle of the Bluegrass drivers. There will also be some special awards that include Sportsman of the Year and inductees into the Fastrak Hall of Fame that will be announced the night of the banquet.

Honored drivers at the Fastrak/Ultimate “Night of Champions” Annual Awards Banquet include the Fastrak Pro Late Model Series South East Region champion, Mid-Ohio Valley Region Champion, and East Coast Rumble Champion Cla Knight. Chris Steele is the Fastrak SE Region Rookie of the Year.

The 2016 Fastrak Future Cup Champions for drivers 19 years of age and younger are Henry Hornsby III in the South East Region, and Tyler Stutler in the Mid-Ohio Valley Region. Dennis “Rambo” Franklin is the Fastrak World Champion for the second time, and the World Challenge Champion is Ryan Montgomery. Ross Bailes is the Fastrak Triple Crown Champion and Trent Ivey if the Georgia State Race Champion.

David McCoy will be honored as the Fastrak Weekly Racing Series National Champion, along with the six Fastrak Weekly Racing Series Division Champions. McCoy won the Division 1 title representing Lavonia Speedway and Toccoa Raceway in Georgia. Matthew Nance is the Division 2 Champion representing Antioch Speedway and Rolling Thunder Raceway.

Tyler Arrington is the Fastrak Weekly Racing Series Division 3 Champion representing Princeton Speedway, Lizard Creek Speedway and Wythe Raceway. Justin Williams is the Division 5 Champion representing West Virginia Motor Speedway.

Troy Frazier is the Fastrak Weekly Racing Series Division 6 Champion presenting Tyler County Speedway, Elkins Raceway and Rolling Knob Motorsports Complex, and Jake Henry is the Division 7 Champion representing Ponderosa Speedway.

Franklin will also be recognized as the 2016 Ultimate Super Late Model Series Champion, and Glenn Elliott will be honored as the Ultimate Super Late Model Series Rookie of the Year. Jeremy Hines will be celebrated as the Ultimate Battle of the Bluegrass Super Late Model Series Champion, and Derek Fisher is the Ultimate Battle of the Bluegrass Series Rookie of the Year.

Due to the closure of the hotel and confusion resulting from the wildfires in Gatlinburg, the deadline to reserve hotel rooms and purchase banquet tickets has been extended until January 11, 2017. The Banquet Tickets are $35 per person and must be purchased in advance from the Fastrak Office in Carnesville, GA. Banquet Tickets will not be sold at the door. Championship Cars are to be displayed inside the Banquet Ballroom where the dinner and the Awards Ceremonies will take place. These include the cars of the Fastrak Weekly Racing Series Champion, the Fastrak SE and MOV Touring Champion, the Fastrak Weekly Racing Series Divisional Champions, Fastrak World Champion, Fastrak World Challenge Champion, Ultimate and Ultimate BoB Champions and Rookies of the Year.
