Columbus(MS) Speedway Joins NeSmith Weekly Racing Series With 3 Divisions

Columbus, MS – Columbus Speedway(MS) and NeSmith Racing officials are proud to announce that the 1/3rd mile high-banked clay oval has signed up to offer three divisions that compete under the NeSmith Racing banner. The track commonly referred to “The Baddest Bullring in the South” will host Weekly Racing Series action in the NeSmith Late Models, NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division, and the new NeSmith Late Model Sportsman Division.

The track located on the outskirts of Columbus, MS will host Friday Night Weekly Racing events, and compliment that schedule with some Saturday events that do not conflict with nearby Magnolia Motor Speedway which is located just across town. The addition of the Friday night venue will afford competitors more options to earn National Points in their quest for the Championship in each respective division. Drivers will count their 14 best finishes during the 27 week Weekly Racing season towards their final points tally determining the National Championship.

“We are excited that NeSmith Racing is again a part of the racing program at Columbus Speedway,” stated new promoter Rod Taylor. “We are working on many new improvements around the facility, and want to offer the great fans and racers the best show possible. Adding the NeSmith sanction will allow the local racers more opportunities to compete for the championships and bring them back home to Columbus, MS.”
