Newsome Raceway Parts Weekly Racing Series Late Model Week 20 Preview

ADAIRSVILLE, GA – The Newsome Raceway Parts Crate Racin’ USA Weekly Racing Series Late Model Week 20 schedule of events are listed below. There will be nine points-paying Week 20 events in four different states with one on Friday night, seven on Saturday night and one on Sunday afternoon.

With the large number of rainouts last weekend from the remnants of Hurricane Delta, there will be plenty of Double Features and Make-Up Races on the Week 20 schedule of events. Pike County Speedway in McComb, MS and Thunderhill Raceway in Summertown, TN will run Double Features on Saturday night.

The first feature at each track will be a Newsome Raceway Parts Crate Racin’ USA Weekly Racing Series Late Model Week 19 Make-Up Race, and the second feature will be the regularly scheduled Week 20 Race. Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS will run a Week 5 Make-Up Race on Friday night, and return on Saturday night for a $1,000-to-win race.

The Newsome Raceway Parts Crate Racin’ USA Dirt Late Model Series National Tour will be in action this Sunday afternoon at North Alabama Speedway in Tuscumbia, AL for the $3,000-to-win 4th Annual King of the Crates 50. Drivers may request to run for Weekly Racing Series points when they register for this event.

Week 20 will be the final week tracks will be able to run Double Feature Make-Up races, and after the completion of Week 20 competition, the battle for the $10,000 2020 Newsome Raceway Parts Crate Racin’ USA Weekly Racing Series Late Model National Championship could be decided.

If the defending Newsome Raceway Parts Crate Racin’ USA Weekly Racing Series Late Model National Champion Shannon Lee of Lumberton, MS can win a pair of 50-point main events, he clinches his second straight title with 14 50-point wins.

If Oakley Johns of Hohenwald, TN can win the Friday night Week 5 Make-Up Race at The Mag, and then pick up a Week 19 Make-Up Race win and a Week 20 win, as long as they are 50-point wins, that would give him 11 wins and a perfect score of 550 points. That would tie him with Lee in points, and the tiebreaker would be who has the most 50-point wins. If Johns wins out with three weeks left in the season, he would have 13 50-point wins.
