Ray Cook Racing Readies for Boyd’s Speedway On Heels of Showdown at Senoia

(BRASSTOWN, NORTH CAROLINA) Ray Cook Racing brought their own #53 Capital racecar to Senoia Raceway in Senoia, Georgia on November 11-12 for the inaugural running of the 'Showdown at Senoia,' which was sanctioned by the Southern Nationals Bonus Series. On Friday night, Ray Cook knocked down the fifth quickest time in Group A during the qualifying session prior to grabbing the fourth and final transfer spot through his heat race.

After starting Saturday's $10,000 to win headliner from the inside of the eighth row, Ray had a steady run going until he unfortunately went down a lap to leader Shane Clanton during a long green flag run. The Brasstown, North Carolina standout chose to then retire from the 60-lapper and was relegated to a nineteenth place effort in the 'Showdown at Senoia.' With a powerplant still down in the Advanced Motorsports stable, Ray will once again unload his familiar red/black #53 machine on November 18-19 in the Southern Nationals Bonus Series finale, which will take place at Boyd’s Speedway in Ringgold, Georgia. The 28th edition of the ‘Gobbler’ will be held for the first time at the Chattanooga-area venue and another $10,000 top prize will be on the line. Qualifying and heat races are scheduled for Friday night while consolation events and the 60-lap feature are slated for Saturday evening.
