Pretty In Pink Breast Cancer Awareness Race Saturday At Mountain View

SPRING CITY, TN – Mountain View Raceway presents the 3rd Annual “Pretty In Pink” Breast Cancer Awareness Race this Saturday. Everyone attending the events on Saturday at the Rhea County Speed Plant are encouraged to wear Pink. There will be a pair Powder Puff Races for non-racing ladies and seven racing Divisions competing on the ¼-mile high-banked clay oval.

The non-racing ladies will compete in a V-8 Powder Puff Race and a Front-Wheel-Drive Powder Puff Race. The Late Model, Sportsman, Open-Wheel Modified, Thunder, Front-Wheel-Drive and Junior Front-Wheel-Drive Divisions will compete in Regular Weekly Point Races.

Saturday will be the final point races of the 2022 season for the Sportsman and Junior Front-Wheel-Drive Divisions. The Developmental Sportsman Division will also be in action this Saturday. Mountain View Raceway will also begin its Fall Starting Times with gates opening and racing beginning in the afternoon.

Four drivers have clinched Championships for the 2022 Season in their respective Divisions. Barry Goodman of Spring City, TN has clinched his fourth straight Late Model Championship at Mountain View Raceway driving the Charlie’s Used Auto Parts CVR. Brandon Stanfield of Soddy Daisy, TN has clinched the Sportsman Division title in the Frizzell Excavating Mastersbilt.

Josh Scealf of Decatur, TN has clinched the 2022 Front-Wheel-Drive Championship at Mountain View Raceway driving the J&S Towing Honda. Nine-year-old Frankie Sharp of Crossville, TN has clinched the first-ever Junior Front-Wheel-Drive Division Championship driving the Sharp Race Cars Chevrolet.

The Late Model, Open-Wheel Modified, B-Hobby, Thunder, and Front-Wheel-Drive Divisions will be able to earn points for the next two events on the 2022 Racing Schedule at Mountain View Raceway.

Jimmy Dalton of Powell, TN leads the Open-Wheel Modified Division point standings driving the Willett Powder Coating Elite. Casey Cash of Spring City, TN in the Duncan Family Automotive Camaro is the Thunder Division point leader.

There will be new starting times beginning this Saturday, as Mountain View Raceway will begin its Fall Twilight Schedule. Beginning this Saturday, the Pit Gate opens at 12 Noon, and the Grandstand and Tier Parking Gates open at 1 p.m. Pre-Race Registration and Technical Inspection is scheduled from 12 Noon to 3 p.m. The Drivers Meeting is scheduled for 3:15 p.m.

Pit Passes are $25 for Adults, and $15 for Children 6-11. The General Admission and Tier Parking ticket prices are $10 for race fans 12 and older, and Children 6-11 are $5. Children 5 and under are admitted Free in all areas, and all Children must be accompanied by an Adult.
