Asking for a friend!
Probably not but everybody has one.
Everyone does need a nickname because nicknames and catch phrases are about 75% of a WRG late model broadcast... Am I wrong that most of the local track announcers do a better job than the announcers the series brings?
Negative, if everyone has a nickname then nicknames lose some of their special/cool factor. My favorite is when someones nickname doesn't denote speed. I've heard enough "Rockets, Missile's, Bandit's, Hurricane's" for one lifetime
It's the WWF efffect!!!! WOOOOOOO!!!
No they don't..
More like the Chris Berman effect.
One of my favorites is in NASCAR ; Wrecky Spinhouse ! !
Does every late model driver need a nickname?
NO!
They don’t, but nicknames do tend to make their way to their merchandise, so I don’t think the drivers mind.
No, nicknames should be earned. Rick doesn't understand that.
I think Rick just likes nicknames because it’s probably easier to remember and quicker to spit out. I was at a WoO race about ten years ago and Rick was chiming in with the local announcer to give the local crate support division drivers nicknames if they didn’t airway have one.
If your last name is Brown, they'll call you Downtown.
Back in the old days when cars were driven differently you would be called " Back it in Black " if your last name was Black.
holy cow you mean we actually agree on something! Cheers!
It just makes it all sound so childish. When I seen that Bob Jenkins died I thought about all the races I heard him call and how he called everyone by their names. Rick should pay attention to that. Air Force Austin Winger is not needed!
If your last name was Rhoads, your name certianly would be " DUSTY " ! !
Sade song seems like a strange musical inspiration for a nickname…….skid row…youth gone wild?
Now that’s a fitting nickname for the kid in question.
