Park Jefferson Speedway to host MSTS vs NE 360 Sprint Shootout

The roar of 700 horsepower Sprint Cars returns to Park Jefferson Speedway this Saturday Night. Park Jefferson has historically been host to the North/South Sprint Shootout presented by the Days Inn of North Sioux City, and will see that event occur again on Saturday as the drivers of the Midwest Sprint Touring Series based in South Dakota and Minnesota come south to tackle the Nebraska 360 Sprint Car Series. Over 25 of the top race teams from the region will come to do battle on the black gumbo of Park Jefferson Speedway. “Our guys are fired up.” stated MSTS president Dereck Van Der Brink. “It is a great purse with $1,200 top prize and $350 just to make the A Feature. I know the guys from Nebraska are very talented, but we have a lot of great racers here in Sioux Falls and I think we will represent well”. Some of the names that are expected are Billy Alley, Jack Dover, Greg Bakker and Jody Rosenboom. Dover has been a dominating force at Park Jefferson, picking up wins in 2011 and 2014 before a vicious flying rollover sent him 70 feet off the track in the second 2014 feature. Joining the premier series will be the Petersen Machine Sport Mods, Hobby Stocks and Sport Compacts who will be racing for points. Gates will open at 5pm with hotlaps at 6:30 and racing at 7:00. Tickets for adults are $17 with children 6-16 just $5. The Park Jefferson clubhouse VIP is available for $30 with children 6-16 costing $15. Pit passes will be $30 for the event. Park Jefferson Speedway is located 10 miles north of Sioux City off exit 4 on I-29. Lodging is available at the Days in North Sioux City, the closest hotel to the track.
