I don't know what you had but the icon pistons I'm referring to have metric rings 1.5 1.5 3.0 mm and the icon piston weighs 440 grams with a 9cc dome the SRP weighs 424 with a 4 cc dome....

Have you ever used the icon stuff? What makes them cheap.
The icon pistons are not cheap. They are 2618 material SRP is 4032. They double pin oilers, SRP not. They have lateral gas...

That looks like the cylinder wall broke before the piston, was the block sonic tested?

Ditch the SRP pistons in favor of Icon pistons. They have better features than the SRP stuff. IC609 part number if you want a price email me

The Dart 227 head is pretty good with standard rockers. I would not suggest anything that requires an offset stud mount rocker, you will eventually have problems. The Trick Flow 215 and 230 heads are...

This applies to the Iron blocks. The New Blocks are WORLD PRODUCTS blocks. If you look in the lifter galley you could not mistake these from the DART copy that was so well discussed a few years back....

i think the blocks are now cast at world products, you can tell the difference between the world products blocks, if you look at the lifter valley.

Most likely the rod broke because of something other than the rod. Could have spun a bearing or the engine could have hrydrauliced and bent the rod, then????. What are the specs on your engine?
