We used two 4x4 blocks between the lower control arms and the frame, where you normally measure ride height and then used a 15x8 wheel with 5" offset. Blocks raised the whole front end up and the...

I posted on here a year or so ago about springs instead of rubber bumpstops and the response I got from these pro's on here was that I was crazy. I was in a shop and saw the spring on the shock...

Been my experience the fire suppression systems only work when the spray nozzle is directly on the fire. If there is a car on top of your car and you expect his fire suppression system to help you,...

What size lowering blocks for the rear springs are you using? How much fuel to get 53% rear? Lots of variables to get the %'s right.
-
Move the weight from the right rear to the center of the car, also move the battery as you describe. Weight in the center of the car isn't too bad and helps balance the car to the numbers you want. ...

I went back and looked at you original post and my thoughts are you might help drive off the corner with a 225 rr spring and a 3/3 rr shock. We had a lot of luck with a stiff rr spring and soft...

We ruined an engine once and finally found out the pickup tube in the fuel cell (fuel pick line ran out the top) had a small crack in the fuel hose at the inside top of the fuel cell. Gas in the...

Grain scales that weigh up to a 1000 lbs was at one time cutting edge tech. They still work and if you can find them they are usually cheap. Just use a known weigh and calibrate them. Also make...

My first time around a race car and we didn't know anything about set ups. A late model guy told us to bring our car to his shop and he would help us. He said we had to start every weekend with a...

Usually, there is a driver's meeting and the flagman will go over how he starts the race. Pay no attention to it if you are on the front row and remember "There are two kinds of racers....Ones who...

Save the water truck!! Why not put .5 in Left Front and then 1.5 in the right front and take to power steering off the car to save weight..........
Really, if you look at the angles that are...

If you have air in the system it will act like that as well. Bleed the system a couple times to be sure. See if that helps.

How much travel do the spring rods have?

What's happened to you guys!! Let's get the "babe of the Day!" going again!

I see cars that run 15 to 20 lap features with 32 gallon fuel cells. I see guys scaling with 20 gallons of fuel and plan to finish with close to that amount. We do a lot of dumb stuff that should...

Shorten the low gear linkage rod. Had the same problem when I started. With the rod a tad too long it will not come out of low and the trans will NOT shift into high gear.
-
Take the 4 bolts out of the bellhousing and rotate the trans until the bleeder is at the highest point. Then bleed normally, like a brake caliper.
-
I have heard guys say that using the 92's on the front tightened the car up, even when the stagger stayed the same between the two tires.
-
BTW set the leaf spring front spring in one spot and don't mess with that at the track. Moving this could affect a lot of things. Pinion angle, weight settings, lift bar setting etc. We never had...

Scaling can be tricky, Set your frame heights as recommended if you know them. Then read your scales, if you are pretty far off work all 4 corners to get closer to weighs you want. By that I mean...

BTW forget all the trick stuff, keep it simple. You will be fast longer and more consistent.

2 - 450 springs on the front, 2 - 225's on the rear. Get the lf, rf and rr weighing the same and lr 150 pounds of bite. 400 spring on the lift bar. Hang on and have fun, quick on this basic set up.

Where on the birdcage, is it connected? What is the other end attached to? Little more description of installation would be helpful.
