Hello Racers! Happy New year!
I have been redeveloping my late model for road racing and I am converting the upper rad hose to -16AN for the simplicity of installation.
I normally run a restrictor...

Those are awesome photos, thanks!
Are the cooler brackets welded to the cross tube or clamped on?

Thanks for the information. Does anyone have any photos of a nice, simple mount for a cooler up front?

Good evening, racers:
I am going to use an oil cooler on my wet sump SBC in my old pavement late model turned road racer.
I have looked into sandwich adapters and I like the Canton piece.
My...

Which timing cover and balancer are you using? The 305 cover and balancer have the timing marks at 12 o clock if you use a 350 cover and the small 305 balancer, the timing will be at least 45 degrees...

If I may add to this thread:
I have been using WIX filters with no problems for years. I am planning to use an oil cooler next year as well. Is anyone using an OBERG sandwich filter?
I used one...

Seriously? I sure don't need boots to road race...

Thanks for all the comments, they have been helpful.
I have been looking into going dry sump and it doesn't look like it would be as expensive as I thought.
I have been talking to a couple engine...

Thanks for the honesty, Hurst.
I have not read the new rules yet, but the old ones allow just about anything.
It will come down to budget.

Hello, everyone:
I know this is a circle track forum, but there are so many people who provide such valuble information on here, I am confident someone will have an opinion.
I am considering...

That's the case. The guy I got the heads from is very new to racing and the guy HE bought the car from had no idea what he was doing at all.
I'm a mechanic so I knew the rockers were all hinkey,...

To refresh:
The cam these heads were used with is a Comp 12-515-5 (have also seen 288TLS-6 for this cam) with 259/266 @.050" and .550"/.570" lift. (350CID, huge domed pistons)
I am going to...

To continue this topic... I have been using NGK B7S's for years in my 462's with no problems at all.
Now I am switching to Bowtie heads (14011034) and I notice they are a tapered seat plug. What is...

Hi again:
Am I understanding this intake VS exhaust correctly?
If I were to only turn this engine 6500-6800, would putting the 1.6 rockers on the intakes improve the mid range?
Is this generally...

Thanks for the help, guys. I am looking into what my current cam specs are - in was a "mystery cam" when I bought the engine a few years ago. I did so well with it, with stock 462's, I never cared...

Hello all:
My suspension questions have been addressed - Thanks balljoint !
I now have a rocker arm question for your consideration.
I just inherited a pair of bowtie heads with a set of comp...

We do use swaybars on the front, ranging from 7/8" to 1 3/16"
I'm using an 1 1/8th for the 1/4 mile. Most use the same on the bigger track, so I was not going to make a change until I run and plan...

I have been doing research and I need to determine the "wheel rates" of both cars and see where that takes me.
I still have not found a good chassis setup book for this and other tips. Any...
