Have had 2 Northerns in 11 years. Only reason for second was I launched my car into orbit and on the landing curled it under the car. They take a beating and are very reliable! As said before they...

Hey Dave question being the my cam is about the same lift as yours real close to 0.600 I doubt that the spring is coil binding my springs are capable of running well over 0.600 lift so I have way...

I run Schaeffer and Gibbs. Never an issue. They will take the high oil temps these beasts put out too.

So with the 1.3 I'm at #345. Not bad
-
Seated they are #145.
Most likely I will continue with pulling the inners and use the 1.3. Then replace the inners and go again. After that it should be good to go. How would I calculate the open...

Not sure of the pressures on the 1.3 but we checked the springs at full valve lift for the cam I was at #450...

Pulling a motor apart noticed that they used black silicon and didn't use thread sealer for the head bolts. Is this better or equal to the white permatex stuff in the brown jar I always used? I'll be...

Have a pair of the same heads on the second motor 365 I built. That thing would pull like a sob and was smoother then the 383-406 stuff running camelbacks.

After a hard lift on the throttle say for a caution or something like that my motor will sputter and shut off. It then takes forever to refire like its flooded but it doesn't show any signs of...

Pull the breather and cover with a rag just drape it over so dirt doesn't get in, put a space heater under the pan. I would do this to warm my stuff when we would race in Feb where it was still 40*...

I know the I beams are good stuff. Have a 358 that the previous owner didn't hesitate to pull to 8000+.
Compstar is most likely what I will use next round along with a crank.

Yup, I use a dipstick to check but I did this to get the "correct control level." After the oil settled from drainback and cooled I checked the level again and made a hash mark on the stick. I now...
