You probably need to add spacers on the back of your crank. There's a clearance spec, don't remember it now, but it isn't much. Add the midplate and you have a huge gap there. One of the suppliers...

I use a block mounted pump with methanol. Fuel line from pump to carb tees off to a mechanical bypass from Barry Grant, return line off the bypass back to fuel cell. 3psi at idle, 9psi wot.
