We are getting so high with our cars now, maybe the weight being that high is making the cars too twitchy? Not as stable. The higher the cell, the more weight would move around with smaller amounts...

I always liked the bolt in lower bar. The stiffer that LR is, the better.
-
Having different stems is a good way of testing different heights without building new spindles. Once you hit on something, I would always build a new spindle with that height adjusted. Running stock...
-
Oh yes. We used a 15/16 wrench with the radius sanded down to fit. It only matters for certain spindles.

Years ago I was told the sparking on the left rear was due to the nickel content in the rotors. Usually, it was the Performance Friction stuff. They are quite a bit more money, but they are supposed...

I don't have a part number, but most screw-in lowers use a Chrysler screw-in. Years ago car builders were using the Chevy (Rayburn) press-in or the Chrysler screw-in (rocket).

.060 aluminum is pretty popular. Usually the .040 aluminum used for bodies doesn't hold up well.
-
What is ERB in this year? I know he was experimenting away from Rocket last year.

I see something that keeps getting overlooked by guys trying to get more height on the LR. When running a beam axle, you will need to also increase the roll angle or you will start pulling load off...

If I remember right, these are of the basic design like a Bert Gen 1. You are better of with a Bert Gen 2 or a Brinn.

What kind of early season late model racing is scheduled in Illinois? I’m looking for places to possibly go in April.
-
Exactly! I wouldn’t worry as much with roll center as other things on the front end. Lots of speed to be had in front end stuff though. I’d be looking at building my own spindles if I had a car.
-
This works really well. You can assemble everything on the bench or floor, including the oil pump, and just slide it into the car. The only problem I've run into is the weight of everyting hanging...

I'm thinking Overton is looking at ways to get around the droop rule and get more aero angle on the deck.
I think the biggest question on my mind is, did he move his RR bars up to compensate for...

We have 2 sets of Ohlins LMJ shocks. $1750 per set. Needs a good cleaning. Will only sell as a set.
Call Turk at 414-331-1170.

Yes, both Tony and Ruth are really cool. It is a stock car part and I wish I could remember off the top of my head what it is. I think I will have to look back at some of my notes.
If I find it, I...

I always liked either Gibbs or Schaffers. I was told once, by a guy who built rear ends for NASCAR, that the most important aspect is to keep it clean and change it often.

I caught a wif of something. I think it may have been on a drive home from DoD. Did I hear someone say something to the effect like he would stay if they got a sponsor to pay his salary?
I'm all...

When Bob Memmer (please excuse the spelling if it is wrong) started UMP he tried hard to get rid of the slab downforce noses of the eighties and early nineties. Now the UMP concept is gone when they...

Amen. This is the exact thing I've been saying for a while. I got into late models from sprint car racing because it was, at the time, a place of wide open ideas. Now its so far clamped down, ideas...

Does anyone know what axle tube dimensions Longhorn runs?
-
There is also a linear pot that bolts next to the spring. The strain gauge is in the bolt. It wouldn’t be something you race with, but it would be good to get some numbers in practice. Keith at...
-
Thanks Billet. I never even considered the size thing, but you’re right. It is quite a bit of restriction from a regular hose. I think I’m going to start recommending regular hoses.
-
Probably the cheapest bang for your buck is the one Keith Berner has for sale. Strain gauge is in the bolt, and if I remember right, it is html based so it can be accessed on any platform with any...
