running a simple spring bar, preload is set at 650 lbs. travel indicator reads 3.5 inches , how much it to much travel?

You are right about playing "bumper cars" , never underestamate any contact.
one idea is better have it break the first weak link, then deeper into the car.

I've always used a 10555c, but would a standard 1055hv work also? Mellings suggests their "select"
pump for high rpm apps.
What are they considering high rpms?

I don't think its not enough steer to the right, it sounds more like a push loose condition.

They must be talking inclination? if thats the case, you can slug the ball joint hole
and re-machine the ball joint position, or is that pin angle?

Full cage 1.50 tubing, 8" rear 5.43 gears, with traction lock diff.
car was a 1979.
no engine ,radiator or trans,

Your are right about the loose nut behind the wheel, especially when its the guy asking the question, alittle throttle control wouldn't hurt.
The lr shock is a 2080 bilstien (stiffer on comp)

90/10 shock in front or nylon limiter strap on the back?

We use a 37 to 42" long pullbar, 4 bisquit , currently mounted at 28 deg downhill,
12 to 14" above the CL of the rear and slightly behind the CL.
Car is really good on fwd bite, but under decel...
