I'm in IMCA land but was thinking about trying to venture over into UMP country a little and maybe even try to run a few weeks of the Summer Nationals.
I've seen people that run 800 hp 13° 415s...

I've been away from racing for 6-7 years because of my job and was thinking about slowing down and enjoying life again. Problem is it's looking like technology has left my old ways behind! The...

You can look on Bill Frye's Facebook page and see pictures of a GRT he just put a Rocket crossmember in and put a blue/grey front end on. Then you could get all your part locally.

What kind of adjustments does everyone make with torque arm as the track gets real slick to still have drive in the car?
-
What about a bigger cubic inch spec head mod motor in the 670 -720 hp range? And how big of a bore and stroke will both take?
-
GRT builds a really nice car but you are better off buying it thru someone else to get the most help. If I were to buy one it would be thru T.C. Noel or Bill Frye. Both will be very helpful any time...

It's 27 grand for a motor for a modified.

Anyone have any new thoughts on this subject?

The first thing I would do is make sure all fluid levels are where they need to be. Then set your ride heights. Then set your front end. Then scale the car rechecking the ride heights as you go....

I would like to know the answer on this as well!

Gary Clark is always on FaceBook if you can't get him on the phone. Hope that helps...

Bill Frye is now selling Shaw modifieds!!! It will be hard to find a builder the has more years of R&D experience than Frye. From all the years of driving the house Late Model at GRT to the years of...

I sure wish this was true! I spent the day at Bill Frye's shop today. He is selling Shaw modifieds $22,500 for a rolling car and I priced engines yesterday. For a USMTS spec head motor from Jay (not...

I just talked to Todd Staley myself. He said that all the tall spoiler cars are down to a 7' spoiler from the 8" from last year. And the crate motors they took the 50# off the front of the car but...
-
Where is everyone getting this info from? I need to know for sure before I spend anymore money on a car that I can't afford a motor for to run competitive with without the crate deal.... Not into the...

Thanks for the advice! Anyone know how to get a hold of him?

I am putting together a mod to run at a couple of 3/8 mile USRA tracks. I have been wanting to try the crate motor because most of the times these tracks stay pretty slick. With the weight break and...

I have a friend running the same shock with 150# in it. We scaled the car without the shocks then hooked them up and it gained a little over 100# of left rear. May want to start unbolting them before...

Off of Mars Race Cars web site. A little more money but a lot more shock! Plus you'll have Jimmy and Chris Mars to help you get everything figured out...

Does it make any difference if the shock is a twin tube or a mono tube? What about a high gas pressure and softer spring?
-
Thanks! USRA / USMTS is 2250 pounds with 50 pounds in front of the motor plate. A steel block spec head motor is 2400, steel block open 23 degree head is 2450 pounds with 50 in front of the motor...

What about fuel? Whats the best thing going for these motors?

What does everyone recommend as far as accessories for the 525? Carbs and spacers? Will a alternator help in a 20 - 30 lap race? Who makes the best pulleys? What size headers? And who makes a...
