Hey everyone,
Been racing for 15 years. About the only car I've never been in is a Late Model. Local late model racing is the IMCA stuff. Thinking id like to get into it and see if I like it. Im...

I have that tool. The key to making it work is to make sure you have it set so it only takes a sliver off the tire. take to much and it grabs and jumps. So when you first get it, mess with an old no...

JDR, one of the best out there. Ive got 2 of his 4412 carbs, great right out of the box

25-27ish on the LR, 10-13ish on the rr (drop some on the rr the slicker it gets). full drop on LR anywhere from 42-52, depending what you like. If your in the area i said on angle, in my opinion roll...

I know this isn't late model related, but figured this is one of the most looked at threads.
Just purchased a 46' united stacker. I've never had a stacker before. So I've got a few questions. Some...

Soften the LF spring. That helps loosen entry. What's your trail? Better check that. The bar angles on that are fine on the rr, a bit conservative on the lr.
All this is considering nothing is...

Any tech man would bust those within 30 seconds of looking at them.

I don't understand why anyone would still run paper filters. 10 $10 filters and you've already paid for an R2C. I've had my R2C for 3 years now. Seems like a no brainer to me
-
Get an R2C. You won't regret it.

Passing time, what are you talking about??? In imca the body rules and weight rules ARE the same between crate and open! In the sportmod and a mod class....
-
The rules are already fair. I've already said your claimer runs just as hard if not harder than my crate. What in the h*ll more do you want?
-
And fastford, I'd say a typical night around here is probably around 4 hot laps, 8-10 heat laps, 18-20 feature laps. So roughly 30-35 laps a night. That's about 6000-7000 laps in 200 nights and they...
-
Well yeah, anybody who knows just a tiny bit about engines knows it's the 6200 limit that keeps them alive for that long. They couldn't run 7000 if they had to, it would grenade in a very short time....
-
Fastford. You apparently haven't been around the crate much. There is numerous crates that are close or beyond 200 nights. Stockcars driver and Derek will attest to that. I'm only 28 and a first...
-
Fastford. There's alot of guys that don't have parts laying around to build an engine. When I compare having to buy every single peice to build a claimer verse a crate, then pay to have the machine...

First off, why is almost everyone running a crate?
Simple, they are cheaper.
1. Cost less initially
2. Less maintenance
3. Cheaper maintenence
4. Most last 5x longer than a claim
You add...

Sorry to everyone about the rant, (not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word) just gets old.

How can anyone complain about the engine rules in the northern sportmods??? They are about as even as it gets! I've been outrun by a claim engine numerous times. Afrank, roebuck, osantowski just to...

Go to mike Goldfuss at Goldfuss Racing & Fabrication. He has a Facebook page. Very good to work with, very good pricing, and quick turn around times. Don't waste your money on the dsr stuff. Nothing...
-
Dirtracer9x, what year are you living in??? Becuase in today's world, a solid 3 link car will run circles around a leaf car day in and day out in this area. The 3 links have WAY more adjustability,...
-
Hey Derek. I've been thinking for the last 2 years you were waisting your time with the leafs. The leafs will never work as good as the 3 link. If there is moisture they work ok, but when it slicks...

What gasket works the best? Mine always leak. Prefer something reusable due to changing gears a lot.
Thanks

Brad, can a person buy a set of hand picked springs from you? and if so, how much are they? Looked on your website but didnt see them.
-
If axle was bent, would it still pullout easy or would it be tough to get out?
-
Have to run mini spool, imca rules. I always drain before I pull axles. I'm 99.9% sure the housing isn't bent (pretty new, hasn't taken a hit, axles pull out easy as can be) but the axles have been...
