Seems like whenever I de-index the LR statically, bad things happen even though it still seems like it would or should be better (in my head). All I can figure is that I am not getting the correct...

You can add toe in to the RR upper bar. It frees up a smackdown fairly dramatically. It adds roll steer at peak travel. Maybe not the ideal fix, but its a quick fix.

Thanks for the reply, CCHIEF. Crate car, no stack springs. Maybe I just need to learn to hustle. I’d prefer a car that you can drive relatively deep at half throttle and rotate, but its so loose now...

So what would be some go-to adjustments to tighten off-gas entry with (relatively) high droop load? Dropping RR lower on the frame? More LR rebound?

We run 15 3/4 from inside of 90/10 plate to center of RR frame rail. Birdcages are 7.5” from inside of rotor to centerline of lower shock mount

Cut my front end up last night. It has a seam on the inside. Probably CREW

Thanks. Now you have me thinking... :)

@RaceEngineer. Why do you suppose a nearly cammed over birdcage kills speed? On the LR, the solution might be to raise the lower bar on the frame, or lengthen the lower, or index the birdcage back at...

I am starting to think it matters less and less. Either you go softer on LR spring to get your ride height load the same with the added droop load, or add or decrease turns in the RF. Both of which...

On our masters, it seems like the crossmember and the RF front control arm bolt are what drags. The whole right side rail will drag some, but raising the cross member was the best thing we could have...

We have two smackdowns, and I hope the Gen X has better clearance from bottoming. The stock one bottoms at 2 3/4” and the one we raised the cross member on will go to just shy of 4” on the RF. Just...

In my experience, yes. More RF caster gives more RF bite on entry, but I wouldn’t call it a hard and fast rule. Since you pickup steered camber gain, the loss of tire bite from all the camber could...
