Had a 13* 390 cu in, that made way too much most of the time. Anytime the track would blow Black it had to be toned down. Most nights on 3/8ths tracks it was on two barrels

Had an issue with car switch there was a small difference in radiator heights which got us into a little bit of a problem with temp. Raised new one up to match old set up heat issue went away

Where are you measuring? Typically we used to run 8" +/- 1/4" measure front lower control arm bolt to ground (that's with nova lowers and pintos)

I've seen rules that dictate a minimum but I have never seen a rule stating the wheelbase has to be the same/square

In the way that you are using shock (absorber) you are correct, technically anything that physically dampens force is a shock.
Hadn't gotten this in depth into the engineering of the components...
