That cam is close to what you are currently running, I couldnt imaine a noticable differance between the 2 on the track

I have been running them, and love them because they make great power for a class that requires OEM heads.
But they will crack if you dump all the water and cook it but they are OK for normal high...

The Vortec is a far better head but if the pistons have big domes for the 882 then the vortec chamber will not fit over them.

I run very simular combo and track my cam is just a comp XS282 and it works great up to 7000rpm
There are better cam choices than mine for circle track (just a Street/strip cam)...

I think you need to calculate the rod lengh by 1/2 the stroke differance, as crank reach will be .135 further on the upstroke between 3.48 and 3.75.
