I'm not in the middle of anything going on at the fairgrounds, but will say that Ricky has shown real class with his statements so far. I'm a little familiar with some of the characters mentioned,...
-
Haven't done this for years- Gas prices on Locust Street near the fairgrounds seem to be around $3.75 a gallon. Good news for fans from across the river.
-
It's been a regular thing to do some track prep before the main. Last night should have Ricky and Al ready to address this issue.

No haulers at Birky's shop last couple days
-
Nothing has changed on the 1/2 mile and that's the problem- insurance standards have changed, and making the 1/2 mile insurable would cost a huge amount according to the promoter. I have been...
-
I doubt there will be any future racing on the 1/2 mile- making it acceptable to insurance standards would be way too expensive. Meanwhile, Ricky Kay and his gang have made the 1/4 mile very racy for...

I'm not in the loop about what Brian's personal plans are, (eastern Iowa's been a little busy with power outages and other storm damage) but his son Cruz competed in a nostalgia car race (his first...

Glad I was there. Best race I've seen in a long time.
-
Sucks for me because I live just a mile from the fairgrounds. I could clearly hear tonight's practice session (I can hear race cars right now!) and all that horsepower next week demands to be seen!

Brian was going to be at Vado to help Jason Rauen, but has a tremendous amount of work at his shop. Business comes first, for now. He is still planning to drive at Winter Heat in Arizona.

Above the driver's window is the driver's name- Sammy Hag r.

There's also a mile at DuQuoin, Il. They run an ARCA race there every year.
-
.....hearing rumors that he might be hooking up with another legendary Iowa racing family-
-
Less grip makes modifieds cheaper; but not by a bunch!
-
heck, yeah, put Birky in- I'd also like to see his dad, Dave in the HOF if only for his entertaining balls-out driving!
-
Maybe I spend too much time on facebook, but what's the real story? Guess we'll have to wait 'till tomorrow....
-
Truth of the matter is, Brian won't just show up and drive; it's not in his blood. He's got a good business going with a ton less pressure than racing full time and getting a car set up to his liking...
-
Well, Birky's there too! Hope he's got the car fixed to his liking.......

WOO sprints draw a different crowd than late models. The 1/2 mile at Davenport always seemed to draw a much bigger crowd for WOO sprints than any touring LM series.
-
Deery Brothers show at Davenport called- guess some snow flurries might scare off some fans! (including me)
-
......and if the action on the track slows, look around the stands! Entertainment at its finest.
-
The major project that kept Brian busy so far this year is the 40 foot motor home that he bought and reconditioned. I anticipate a great vacation with his family. Don't have any other info on what...
-
I seem to remember coolers being checked at the spectator gates. I would imagine that carry-in liquor would be in violation of the track's liquor license. A great source for all the rules is the...

Oldest story around- "He's cheatin"! The battle cry of those who can't compete.
-
AVG caught it on my work 'puter and avast! is picking it up at home. Never had this happen until this past week.
