Durabond GMP-8 or GMP-8T coated

I know some engines that guys run those lifters so for no problem crushing those engines any where on the tack.
-
Yes steel bottoms. Comp does not build lifters just reboxed cast iron lifters
-
Have always used DELPHIA lifters right from GM with the steel bottom, zero problems.
-
Brad I have sold over 250 SHP blocks and the early blocks did have tight lifter bores as I had to hone all the early blocks and never had a problem to date, But when those blocks first came out I...

Terry Whether you have a .300 lobe lift cam or a .500 lobe lift cam at max lift the lifter will be the same height in the bore !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If what you were talking about was true the lobe...

NEW Dart SHP block 400 mains all machined, 9.000 deck, Bored and Plate honed to 4.156 with studs, Line honed with studs 2.841, Lifter bores machined to .904 for Morel lifters. Brass freeze plugs and...

Use the longest rod like a 6.125 the HP will not fall off so fast after peak power, Plus you will see a flatter torque curve.

I have used that head on 358 2 barrels with a 6.250 rods they worked great, Remember raised intake and exhaust ports, Port Bias, fast burn chamber. Was are restricted to a flat tappet where I use a...

If your running roller lifters the restriction is built into the lifters and no restrictors should be used if your lifter bore clearance is between .0014 to .0019. In most cases on circle track...

Don't base everything on flow i would look at the Vortec Bowtie heads, There is such a thing a quantity or flow and then you have quality of flow.
-
I use both CIPCO caps or Program caps flat bottom caps. at that hP level you pushing the envelope and sonic test is mandatory. Here is a thread on installing main caps....

Stamp steel rockers from Elgin seem to work pretty good they have a double nitrated rocker. They seem to be reliable for a stamp steel rocker.
-
I had the same results years ago and there roller rockers fell apart all that stuff is junk.

Don't use cheap bore gauges to check bearing clearances. Look this thread over http://www.performanceboats.com/gn7-dyno/192129-inside-michrometer-measuring-bearing-clearances.html

Only a sonic test will tell you max bore on a 305 block

I would prefer the 6.0 rod engine over the 5.7 rod engine. I like the 6.250 rods with the with a 3.48 or 3.5 stroke, The 5.7 and the 6.250 rod 2 barrel engine will peak at the same RPM but the...
