Just finished one here. 6.0 truck block. Carbed with distributor.

I would avoid the Fluid damper and go ATI as Stock car driver suggested. I have had excellent results with ATI, whereas I have had both broken main caps and and oil pumps with Fluid dampers.

Stock car Driver:
It is showing again.

do you ever provide any info that is pertinent and useful? Apparently you felt compelled to reply to my thread even though you had no relevant info pertaining to my question....

All that and yet there was not a yes or no in there.

Has anyone played with the large port 225cc heads. Looking for a head to put on a two barrel 358.
Thoughts?
Thank you.

When I am talking about dropping panhard bar to put heat in LF, I am referring to dropping the entire thing. Lots of ways this can be set up. I like to run about a 300# rt rear and a 135-150#LR. Bar...

More than one way to skin a cat. Creates lots of rear steer to the left tightening chassis off.

LF too cold. Lower panhard bar and put wedge in it. May even want to add more LR spring. Your rear link angles are odd for asphalt. RR up about 1/3 the distance the RR is traveling. LR up somewhere...

Actually that is not that large of a head. Very long runner allows for more cfm in the runner. Cross section still small enough to promote excellent velocity under the two barrel carb.
Actually...

14 degree RHS heads w/240cc runners. Best of the best. Big bore, short stroke. about 535hp. 485hp making it to the rear tires. This was out of a flat tappet, 361ci, 12.5:1 engine. Twisted the snot...

I run my gauge legal 4412 361ci motor right around 8100. Pulled real hard all the way. There is more than one way to get the coon.

In my opinion, if you are building a new bbss engine:
Put it in an aftermarket block. It is an insurance policy.
These motors like rpm and you need to look at keeping rotating weight to a...

I would run as much rocker ratio as I could get on the intake. Be careful on the exhaust as it is possible to over scavenge the combustion chamber. As much compression as possible. RPM as stated...

Still have this engine for sale. Make me an offer and it may be yours.

Never ran alky. Carb always idled clean. Changed to Gibbs this year and no more crap in the pan?? Not sure. Used to use the Penn all the time and never had a problem until the last two years. Do not...

Also had problems with Brad Penn leaving dark slime in bottom of pan. Not sure, but I would say it was an additive that was coming out of suspension. ?? Flat tappet with synthetic: no problem. Just...

If going to a 50cc dart head. Be sure to check piston-to-valve clearance.

535hp out of a 23 degree 362ci using a stock 4412, flat tops, and 72cc heads; = very good dyno. :)
-
Lighter oil will drop pressure and still offer you the protection you need in a steel block with 4412.
