Not following. I agree you can change the heading of the thrust vector of the rearend with Δrear wheel weight, but you can’t change the direction of the snouts.
Not sure how you can say this...
-
A: If he was running different RR geometry, it would be easy to spot, especially since LH's only have ~3 holes for adjusting bar angles
B: I am not convinced that the RR anti-squat settings need...

I see. I thought you were saying that spring loads at certain positions were representative of how much weight was on the tire. Your last paragraph is spot on.
-
This is very very much not how it works. With the tools we have, it impossible to calculate how much weight is on all 4 tires. Maybe Ghopper is getting close to simulating it, but linear shock...
-
The only way it can “make traction” is by biasing the anti-squat it generates in a way the helps load the tire that is insufficiently loaded on the rear axle [at the expense of other tires). However,...

"We here at * ______ Race cars* perform a special stress relief and annealing process in an large oven that is big enough for an entire chassis while using a special coating to prevent oxidation and...
-
My guess is that: the driver said it felt a little tighter on entry, less drive, and *sigh* it went the exact same on the stop watch with every bar cut out because dirt late model

I will yield my time with the microphone to Billet to hear the results of this test..

As far as I know, Neal (raceday engineer) is the only one with any wireless sensors. They are great for learning simple things and are much easier to install, but you can't hook up more than 3-4...
-
This may be wishful thinking... I think a good indicator would be looking at the 4m Racing Gossip vs Racing Tech sections. I think A LOT more people care about what shoes Tyler Carpenter's wearing...
-
That equation gets a little tougher but is pretty easy to do on a spreadsheet. I raced for a long time with no spring smasher, just microsoft Excel on my phone.
-
Easy equation for what spring is needed for your desired "extended load"
Spring rate = ((Ride height load) - (Desired extended load)) / (Extended center to center) - (Ride height Center to center)...
-
Yeah well you see where that got him...
-
This is above all of our pay grades other than maybe Ghopper, but I wonder if moving the torque axis centerline that far would have any noticeable effect?
-
Just paid 180$ on Amazon for a Eastwood *style* flare tool.. did the whole car in less than an hour. So useful and easy.
-
The "updated magical suspension geometry" is just moving things around so they don't bounce off the track. With the 15" nose height rule (which granted, isn't enforced) it is pretty easy to get any...
-
Well when the LF is on the chain but the tire is on the ground and the RF isn’t on a the bumpstop, the roll center is the LF contact patch.. then once it hits the RF bumpstop, the roll center moves...
-
One interesting draw back to putting the body on there crooked is the back of the car hits the wall way sooner than it would have otherwise. If you are running the cushion, or near the wall on the...
-
Well according to 20 year old chassis setup guide, stiffer 5th coil spring = more instant traction and softer 5th coil = more delayed traction... so obviously digressive spring = more traction ALL...
-
Like Grt said, not new whatsoever.. this has been out for atleast 10 years, and they had other ones before..

Like BBC said, the seat holds you together for the most part. My legs get more tired than anything. Your left leg has nothing to lean against. After a long run I find my left leg leaning over against...
-
The question I would ask would be, does this matter?
Lets say you are running an actual 0 index setup with the shock and spring attached to birdcage, and no indexing through travel.
You have some...

I wish that weren't so true.. someone needs to drain the DLM swamp

The lone smart guy left on 4m^^^
It seems to me the rule makers and series' are very much digging their heels in to keep smart/hardworking people from doing smart/hardworking things. Part of...
