Thinking of getting back into racing. I had an IMCA Stock car and at the time here in Oklahoma there were 3 tracks running them and others considering it. Now there is only 1. There is only the 1...

I am trying to learn a bit and wanted to hear some other racers methods. I have found what has been working for me is to run a bit higher rear brake bias and hit the brake on corner entry letting the...

I race an IMCA Stock Car so forgive me for not knowing. I have noticed watching Late Models lately that the RF is spaced way out like half the width of the tire is past the RR. Also the extreme RF...

Yeah my rf ran over another cars lf I went airborne and hit another car about a month ago. That's when the clutch disk went out. It probably was cracked then. This past Sat night the track was very...

I checked the clutch out nothing is warped and nothing is sticking I did find a couple of pieces of broken off spline from the clutch disk that had let go and replaced one was jammed under the spring...

I pulled the transmission out and bad news the top right ear is broken off. Can it be fixed at all? I know its cast iron and cant be welded is there any red neck fix for it? Could i get by a couple...

Think if I shim it out a bit it will get at least a couple races?

So it's not the transmission itself then more than likely. When I push the clutch in with the transmission in gear the starter turns the engine just fine and the car doesn't move. If i have it in...

Yes it was grinding quite a bit in first and reverse before it quit not going in. And yes now when I try to shift into 1st reverse or 2nd it grinds. It goes into 3rd just fine though.
-
Ok this has got me wondering. With the engine off the transmission shifts into all 3 gears and reverse fine. If I have the engine running clutch fully engaged it wont shift into 1st reverse or 2nd. I...

Well i put in 1" of rear stagger this weekend and it didn't push in the middle!! The track was very rough and rutted up. It was very hard to hold my line. I started on the pole and had the bottom...

So the answer to my question will regular stagger limit rear steer?
-
Ok I started out this season with a guy telling me if I am going to run rear steer in my car (metric 4 link with 5 holes in lower trailing arm mounts) that I needed to run reverse stagger (left rear...

Ok this is my rookie year. So far I have only driven the bottom of the track. I've gone up to the high line a few times but usually either spin out or almost spin out. So I stay on the bottom. The...

Thanks for the info about the V10. Looks like diesel is the way to go but I've only seen a few diesel class C's. There are alot of used class A's out there for pretty cheap. NSR 11 what make and...

Ok I have a 2 hour drive to any of the three tracks I race at. Sometimes driving home late at night is just too much. So me and the wife were talking about getting an rv to pull the trailer so we...

Thanks Eric. I'll definitely get a durometer and check them every night of racing. Another aauestion do you race on brand new tires? I've heard that you should grind them and just run hot laps on...

The engine is professionally built and dynoed. It has a dui distributor a flexplate and a three disk 7.25 clutch. I have never tried the holding the brake method. I'll try that this Saturday night...

I am horrible at starts and restarts. I have a good car running pretty much the same gear IMCA stock car. I am running a saginaw and most of the other cars are running powerglides. Is there some...

When are these tires worn out? I have been told they are good for 6 races but is that a whole 28 lap night of racing (5 hot lap 8 heat 15 feature). My tires have anywhere from 3 to 4 nights of racing...

I measured it from the outside of the tread. I lauded tow plates against the tires and ran a string parallel to the left and right rear. Measured from the string.

How did that run on the track with the or out 3"? I'm thinking I'll just run it and see how it does.

I have a 60" floater and I stringed the chassis yesterday and I found out the right rear sticks out past my right front 1" and my left rear sticks out 2". My thought rather than spend the money on...
