Facility won't win any beauty contest but the racing has been good when I've been there.

An important except from the article in dirt doctor's link....
"The EPA recognizes the vehicle itself as the target of compliance or noncompliance. Racers and enthusiasts have long considered the...

The clarification changes nothing. We need to be proactive. Contact your representatives in Washington.

We're not talking about a proposed law that elected officials will vote on. We're talking about a regulation that the EPA is writing.
Anyone in our sport that isn't taking this as a very serious...

I agree with most of what you said Gary, but the only way we have a chance of winning is through our elected officials.

Golddirt, Darrell Hellman is the promoter.
-
And that is exactly what we don't need. If we respond like a bunch of out of control rednecks they regulate the sport out of existence.

This IS a big deal guys. The EPA doesn't make a rule then go away. They ALWAYS become more involved. The EPA hasn't used common sense for a very long time.
The EPA employees aren't always the ones...

I'm not a fan of Smitty but the state of things at KCS aren't all his fault. The fair board makes things tough on the promoter. If Smitty wanted to run SLM weekly how many cars would there be? A lot...

1950 & '55 Mazon Speedbowl Champion Norm Legner passed away on January 12, 2016. Even though Mr. Legner hung up his helmet in the 1960's he remained a race fan and could be seen in the pits at area...

The classes would somewhat depend on whether the end game was to run weekly or just stick to specials.
I'd resist the urge to run more than 4 shows.
I'd be looking at Sunday night of Memorial Day...

There's no magic in running Friday or any other night.
VCS needs to go to specials only for a few years. Run 4 shows a year and run them well ( that's the key). After they've proven they can run...

That's about $200K more than a weekly track will support.

I doubt there's been anyone on this forum that's defended promoters more than I have over the years. The thing is, there's bashing, and there's constructive criticism. Promoters need to learn the...

Thanks for the link HoosierDirtFan. I'm certain most of the promoters in the region will be watching how things unfold at Rte 45 in 2016. BJ didn't say what UMP threatened to take from the other...

Peoria, Macon, Farmer City, and Highland would be my choice.

Sad news. He was a very consistent driver.
Clement was the 1974 Kankakee Speedway late model champion. I wonder how many thousands of racers have used wheels built by Clement?
RIP Rich.

Several years ago I was talking to a buddy of mine that had been a promoter. He was talking about an old promoter that had done very well. I asked him what separated the successful promoters from...

And then they wonder why they only have 60 cars in the pits and 300 people in the stands.

Come on Gary, tell us how you really feel. LOL

A lot of people used to go to Danville on Sunday too. Things have changed over time.
I was against them switching from Sundays to Saturdays and I wasn't for the switch from Saturdays to Fridays...

Scared or lack of confidence? I doubt anyone involved with that team lacks confidence or is scared to go anywhere. Certainly not Bobby or Bob.
