I fought this problem a lot. Tried silicone several times, tried grinding the inner sidewall smooth. Nothing worked, wouldn't hold pressure through one night. I used a large section of inner tube...

Anybody know what the taper is of GM metric tie rods?
-
was that total width or per side?

Its been over 10 years since I had a set of stock spindles but I thought maybe someone on here could answer my question. On a metric stub, when switching from the stock spindles and rotors to camaro...

I moved the motor in my metric back 2 inches a few years back. I was a bit dissapointed in the rear percent gain. But, like the other guys have said, every little bit helps if your serious about it....

I set the motor in mine back so #2 was 2 inches ahead per the rules back then. I was a little dissapointed that the difference was only .3 or .4% but on the plus side I can change the starter out in...

I comp checked a quad4 a while back in a newer cavalier that was 210.

I have to laugh every time I see a track with a cranking psi rule. My 360 is just over 12-1, 55 cc heads, .020 head gaskets, .014 deck height, 2 valve relief pistons. Its around 150 psi. My 89 gmc...

FYI the 73-77 impala 5 on 5 rotors were 12x1.25. 77-91 or so were 11 inch 4 3/4. 92-96 were 5 on 5, same thickness as the camaro rotors and 11.875. Have to use the 92 and up spindles but they are the...

For god sakes people never use a single piston master cylinder for all 4 brakes. Thats just stupid no matter how you look at it.
There is no drum/ disk specific master cylinder. just different...

I have ran them for over 10 years. never had one or seen one come apart. I run them in all but the hottest days. If its over 90 i will put my 6 blade on and it will pull another 10-20 degrees off but...

11.25 or 11.5. Dont remember right off hand, been too long. They are the same thickness as the standard chevelle and camaro rotors.

Nah. The 73-77 5 on 5 impala spindles look like they belong on a truck. Definatley too heavy for racing unless there are some serious contact issues. I switched out the 77 monte spindles on my metric...

92-96 impala spindles are 5on5 factory. still use same calipers and #52 brake pads.

I must have gotten the good ones. Mine were new fall of 2002, almost never sits inside and have been rusty for several years now. No problems if the bolts are checked every month or so.
