We sipe across the tread on rear tires. Every other tread for abrasive dirt, every tread for black dirt. Make sure to get the edge treads siped very well. Only cut deep enough for one night at a...

I agree with SCD on the hub deal. Had a night at FC in a car you are very familiar with that I lost brakes in heat race every time I came off the corner and they needed pumped up. All lines were good...

Since you are talking of cheating up lowers your local tech guys must not be that smart, so I assume you could run tubular uppers. They come in a whole plethora of lengths that you can use to SAFELY...

The fast guys are doing what is comfortable and consistent to them. You cannot be fast unless you are comfortable.
Just experiment until you find what works best for how you drive and tweak from...

With the HVH Super Sucker 2bbl spacer on my motor we found more power with the spacer slid all the way back, but different motor combos will have different variations. I know some guys with more...

You are exactly right. I get it is getting tougher to find a g-body frame, but why charge racers almost $2,000 for nothing more than a bare frame when you can pick up a real G-body frame for ~$200...

I agree with talon lol winning that much and wanting a change sounds crazy!
But in all seriousness, Medieval and Terminator cars are good and consistent all around in any sanction, Hobbs are good...

If I can't get the car to turn.. I give it more gas!! (just kidding, only when to throttle turn on a heavy track.) But seriously, my car came with a RF shutoff but I have never used it once, just one...

x2 on the Fel-Pro. Just make sure to get the steel lined one, the cardboard-like one is not reusable.

Brand new tires in 2014 punched on our durometer as follows:
D40: 40-45
A40: 50-55
H40: 65-75 (Hoosier seems to be very inconsistent with the H's IMO, I have never bought two that punched the...

From my understanding of what promoter Jim Campbell and his assistant Dean Hite said, the track will strictly run during the Champaign County Fair, as it is too close to Carle Hospital to run...

Also, check that you adjusted the drum brakes correctly, too loose and they won't brake worth squat.

Have someone spin each front wheel by hand while the car is jacked up in the air and then apply the brakes, and then try to have them try as hard as they can to spin the wheel even with the brake...

Around 1 gallon should do. Redline Heavy Shockproof is about the best there is for a 9".

A lot of asphalt tracks you can only race on tires that are purchased from the track, so they limit a driver to buying one new tire per race week. That is where that rule comes from. Just trying to...

Have you checked every inch of brake line for leaks, including all fittings?
Are your brake pads glazed over and need a good sanding?
Did you install your new wheel cylinders with the bleeders...

I heard this a few years ago from a well known modified guy I was pitted next too... another driver asked him about how he was consistently so fast (being snobby as he asked like he was accusing him...

Hoosier released a statement saying all the wear was from improper siping... all the junked ones I saw at LaSalle had no sipes in them whatsoever....

How was the track looking last night? Hopefully today's rain won't hurt it too much.

It is available. Your best bet is to find your area Hoosier dealer. You can call up Hoosier and they can point you to who sells them in your area.

Safety before speed. Always. You definitely have your priorities straight. Some guys that have been at it for years seem to think the opposite.
I wish you the best of luck in your endeavors,...

You picked a good one! Put the Sweet shaft in my Street Stock and I LOVE it. The install was easy and it is nice and tight, no slop at all. I may have lost a little money that I could have put into...

When I was about 8, I recall a night that the track was over-watered on a special show and they stayed and worked in the track and the first heats rolled off about 3 a.m. The final feature started as...

Pump gas is very inconsistent and unreliable. Racing fuel is worth the extra cost in the long run IMO. I would rather spend an extra $1000 per year on fuel instead of $5000 on a new motor.
