Contact Dover cylinder head service in Chattanooga TN. 423 624 5161. They have fixed things that I thought would be impossible to repair.

Saw an open wheel years ago at Crossville TN with the radiator mounted behind the RR quarter panel. Guess with alcohol heat issues were minimal.

Check the O-rings in the fuel log. They will dry out and crack causing the pump to syphon air.
