Billy Thomas from Phenix City, Alabama the 1978 winner of the National 100 has announced that he will be racing in the Zaxby’s Race Of Champions Friday night November 12th at East Alabama Motor Speedway. Thomas who stepped out of dirt late models in 1985 to run the ARCA Super Car Series will get back behind the wheel of a dirt late model for the first time in 25 years to be a part of the Zaxby’s Race Of Champions. Thomas who had victories in the ARCA Super Car Series at the Illinois State Mile and the DuQuoin Illinois Fairgrounds retired from all forms of racing in 2004 when he turned his attention to his son William Thomas who was starting his career in dirt track racing. Thomas will be wheeling his traditional yellow #22 JW Miller Land & Timber, Zaxby’s Scorpion chassis Friday night. The Race Of Champions is sure to be one of the highlight's of the 36th Annual National 100 race weekend. The Race Of Champions will be a 20 lap shoot-out featuring past Alabama State & National 100 late model champions. The drivers will draw for starting positions and the winner will receive $1,000 and the Zaxby's Race Of Champions Cup.
