Scott Creel To Claim SAS Rookie of the Year Title This Saturday

Franklinton, Louisiana (11/17/10) – Scott Creel will enter the final Southern All Star Series event of the year this Saturday in his #31 Creel Brothers/ Mastersbilt/Pro Power Racing Engine Super Late Model, and by doing so he will claim the 2010 Rookie of the Year title.

Last weekend Voodoo Motorsports made the trek to Pike County Speedway (Magnolia, Mississippi) for the 14th Annual Jambalaya 100 as 32 cars entered the $5,000 to win/$700 to start event. Via time trials, Scott Creel earned the outside front row starting spot for a heat race, where he finished third to lock into the 100 lap feature event in the twelfth starting spot. Even though he lost his brakes early in the feature, Creel would find himself quickly moving into the top ten. Over the next several laps he would advance to as high as the 7th position before a broken axle tube brought his night to a disappointing end on lap 53. By entering the event, he will clinch the 2010 SAS Rookie of the Year title, and will also look to fend off Freddy Smith for the second position in the overall tour standings.
