someone correct me if i'm wrong but i believe the only difference is the length of the spindle's steering arm (distance from the lower ball joint to the outer tie rod heim) i believe the grey is long, blue is short - ackerman effect

does one seem to have advantages or more preferred than the other?

it all depends on the track and many other variables really. what type of track are you running? tight corners, less banking?

The length of the steering arm is the only difference. This only affects the final speed of the steering. If you are running a fast rack (3.75+) and run on tracks that typically stay slick/ have wide sweeping corners go with the grey. If you are running a 3.75 or slower rack you may like the feel of the blue spindles better as the grey may make the steering too slow.

My advice would be to try a set of combo spindles both ways and see how you like them.
