Begin the process by purchasing a 18" diameter Moroso Pro-Wheel degree-wheel from JEG's. The cost is about $45 + shipping. Use a magnetic base dial-indicator on the valve-retainers, with the cam/follower lash set. But first, check for proper TDC location of the mark on the crank snout pulley. With a piston-stop in the spark plug hole, or a piston-stop strapped across the top of the cylinder with the head removed. If the cam is installed according to normal procedures for that engine (Haynes Manual?), begin the measuring process from that point(head installed)..... regardless of the cam used. If you haven't checked/degreed a cam previously, get with a good engine person familiar with your engine & they can likely show you what needs to be done. -Dave-
