Thread: Head ?

    Default Head ?

Which combo would make more power, Brodix 10 ported with a 390 or 034 steel bow tie un ported with a 750? Everything else would be the same, engine is a .030 over 350 with a 3.5 stroke. Thanks for any advice.

Depends on two things, how good your 390 is and how much your heads flow.

I would personally take the -10 heads every time cause I know their flow potential and they are 50-60# lighter on the top of the engine. Anlgle mill them and roll them to about 19deg and 15:1 compression, put a 2.125 valve on the intake side ( 300 - 325 cfm ), roller cam, killer valvetrain, shaft rockers, buy a killer 390 and you'll probably make close to 650hp and can turn 8500rpm's.

The steel head 750 will be way cheaper to get running decent cause it has plenty of carb and decent head flow. I am not sure these heads in stock form are capable of getting much more than 550hp.
