Thread: Petty Bar?

    Default Petty Bar?

    To Petty bar or not to Petty bar?

    This is another build question for a 90 mustang.

    1. Would you install a Petty bar?
    2. Would it take some of the body roll out or would it transfer more of it to the Rf?
    3. Would you leave it out so the car had more flex?

    I have ran cars both ways and some ran better one way or another. Ran alot of camaros and the ones with out the Petty bar seemed to turn in the corner a little better.

    Again, all answers are appreciated.

    Heres my 2cents worth. i have built 2 cars the first without the 2nd with. There is a weak point where the engine cradle mounts to the unibody. It tends to roll uder itself and kink. If you never get in a crash you wont have this problem but with our 32 car feild and 1/4 mile track its prown to happen. The right side is a inch shorter now than the left and I cant get the kink out. Never has handled as good before the crash. The 2nd one I installed one and havent had any problems as of yet. The 2nd car is built alot different and blows away my 1st car but if I would have has the bent mount I would have still been driving my 1st.
