Cherokee Speedway’s Season Scrambler kicks off this Sunday Afternoon Feb 27th

Cherokee Speedway will kick off its 2011 racing season when the ‘Season Scrambler’ kicks off this Sunday afternoon Feb 27th. Headlining the Season Scrambler will be a $1,500 to win, $100 to start City Chevrolet Crate Late Models main event. Gates will open at 11 AM with the Drivers meeting is set for 1 PM. Racing to being at 2 PM. February 27th's program will also include Limited Sportsman, Crate Sportsman, Pure Stock, Stock 4, Extreme 4, & Young Guns. Grandstands will be $10 and pits will be $20 for this special non-points event.

Track Promoter Lennie Buff has been busy this offseason - most recently bringing in over 70 loads of fresh clay to the speedway surface. There have also been several changes in track personnel with Tony Adair & Sandy Cooke now sharing the flagging duties, Mike Williard manning the Raceiver, long time scorer Danny Estep makes his return, and the addition of Kelly Norris as Track Photographer. Regular season points will begin the 1st week in April under the lights. The historical Speedway is entering its 54th year and enjoying the best racing in over a decade since the track shortening 4 seasons ago. In the midst of tough economic times Cherokee Speedway is still one of the ‘best bangs for your racing buck’ with 7 weekly classes of racing for only $10.
