    Default schrader valve shock question

whats the advantage to schrader valve shocks over a twin tube? if the shock is a lets say 94 series your valving is 4 all the time no matter how much pressure is in the shock....right??
What exactly is the nitrogen pressure change doing?? I know they say more pressure for heavy tracks and less for slick, but why??

Does anyone run gas and twin tubes together or is this not recomended?

The schrader valve has no direct influence on performance in and of itself. However I think what your asking is, what are the differences between mono-tube and dual-tube. These are general specs, but a quality builder can build either type to suit your needs and budget. Be careful some builders only want to push the topend really expensive stuff, but you can win without refinancing your home.

    MONO
    Perform well in rough/wet conditions.
Gas pressure is adjustable which has an effect on spring rate.
Dents in shock body can render shock inoperable.
    More expensive than Duals.
Usually owner rebuildable, but owning a dyno is recommended.

    DUAL
    Perform well in dry/slick conditions.
    Gas pressure is fixed.
Dents don't affect shock function, within reason.
    Less expensive than Mono's.
Most brands usually require service at the factory or a rebuilder.

Correct, your dampening stays constant, but gas pressure effects spring rate.
