Default Rayburn Pull Bar Spring Question

I have an older Rayburn pull bar that has the 4 inch spring.
Now it seems everyone is running the 2 inch spring.
What is the advantage of the shorter spring?
Can I shorten the existing pull bar and use the 2 inch spring?
    Any info or opinions appreciated.

weve found the longer spring helps the car with traction longer down the straights. you should be able to make adjustments on the inner rod or the heims for the short spring but you may have to cut the inner threaded rod some to shorten it. if it works though with the 4 inch, id leave it, but again, thats our preference. we run on a 1/3, 3/8 tracks in central ill.

    Thanks for the info.
I got another threaded rod two inches shorter,I will adjust and try the 2 inch spring.
If it doesn't work as well I can put it back the way it was.

EV36 rayburn is correct we found the same thing.went to the 4'' and never looked back.you still need to change them quit often but at $17 a pop thats one of the cheaper parts on the car.
