Bluegrass Speedway Begins 17th Season with Test and Tune April 9

Bardstown, KY-April 4, 2011- Bluegrass Speedway track promoters David and Anita Ferrell are set to begin to start their 12th season at the ½ mile high-banked Nelson County clay oval as the track begins its 17th season of dirt track sports entertainment with a test and tune open practice day on Saturday April 9.

Bluegrass Speedway will begin its 2011 race season with its annual test and tune open practice on Saturday April 9. This will give racers a chance to shake down their race cars before the 2011 race season gets underway with the 2011 season opener on Saturday April 16.

Activities for the April 9 test and tune practice day will see the pit area open at 4:00 p.m., with the general admission area opening at 5:00 p.m. There will be a short drivers meeting at 6:00 p.m., with practice laps set to follow and conclude at 10:00 p.m. Admission will be free in the general admission area and a pit pass will cost $15.

Bluegrass Speedway will feature four weekly divisions of racing competition during the 2011 race season and those will be Super Late Models, UMP Modifieds, UMP Sportsman, and UMP Street Stocks, with Compacts also in action on occasion during the season.

Bluegrass Speedway is located at 2221 New Haven Road at the intersection of Kentucky Highway 31-E and exit 21 of the Martha Layne Collins (Bluegrass) Parkway. David and Anita Ferrell are the track promoters and present dirt track sports entertainment on Saturday evenings from mid-April through September.
