Tazewell Speedway Late Models racing for $1,500 top prize

Tazewell, Tennessee – Tazewell Speedway returns to racing this Saturday, April 9 with a special event planned for the Tazewell (limited) late models.

After sitting out last week, the Tazewell Late Models will be making their 2011 debut and racing for a $1,500 first place prize and $150 to start. Defending track champion Jeff Fultz will be among the Tazewell Speedway drivers looking to cash in on the bigger payday. Saturday’s purse is as follows:

1st - $1,500
2nd - $900
3rd - $500
4th - $400
5th - $400
6th - $300
7th - $250
8th - $200
9th - $175
10th - $165
11th thru 24th - $150

There is no entry fee for the race.

Also racing will be the modified streets for $500 to win, Classics and Pure Streets for $300 to win, and the four cylinders. Pit gates open at 4:00 and grandstand gates open at 5:00 with racing at 7:00. Tickets are $12 for adults and pit passes are $30.

Tazewell Speedway is located just two miles northwest of Tazewell, Tennessee. Going north on US 25-E, turn right and then left onto Bacchus Rd, and then 1.8 miles north, then .8 miles west and the race track is located on the left.
