    Default Aluminum Motor

Is there a rule of thumb on where a all aluminum motor should be mounted? I have mine mounted high and to the right, does that sound right?

That would be the normal location for an iron block, aluminum head installation.

you place the engine higher so the car will roll faster (like any weight in the car)and place it right or left so you can get your % closer on the left side with out adding alot of extra weight

The old thinking was as I said because an iron block with aluminum heads has a low cg and the iron block may give you too much left side weight.

Like GRT74 said, most builders will now tell you to put it where the car scales out best and not worry about it. You won't likely be able to tell a difference with either mounting height. Put it left to right where the car scales easiest.
