Bluegrass Speedway Season Opener Weathered Out; Reset for April 23

Bardstown, KY- April 16, 2011- Bluegrass Speedway track promoters David and Anita Ferrell have been forced to cancel their 2011 season opener that was set to get the 17th season of dirt track racing underway at the ½ mile high-banked Nelson County clay oval on Saturday April 16.

Persistent rain showers throughout the day on Friday and heavy overnight rains and storms have saturated the entire grounds at the track, plus a forecast of possible more hit and miss rain showers during the day on Saturday have forced the Ferrell’s to have to cancel the racing program scheduled for April 16.

The 2011 season opener is now reset for Saturday April 23 and will feature a full program of racing competition for the 44 Auto Mart Super Late Models, Country 100.9 MIKE FM UMP Modifieds, UMP Sportsman, and UMP Street Stocks. Just as a reminder, all activities on April 23 will begin one hour earlier than normal.

Bluegrass Speedway is located at 2221 New Haven Road, just outside of beautiful and historic Bardstown, KY. David and Anita Ferrell are the track promoters and present dirt track sports entertainment from mid-April through September.
