CARTERSVILLE, GA – NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series West Region point leader Cliff Williams of Star, MS drove the Ware Construction Trak-Star to his third straight West Region win of the season on Saturday night at Jackson Motor Speedway in Jackson, MS. It was his second straight win at JMS and his fourth victory in five races.

There is a new point leader in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Old Man’s Garage (OMG) East Region, as Adam Gauldin of Talladega, AL took the win on Saturday night at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL driving the Adam Gauldin Racing GRT.

Williams holds a two-point lead in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series West Region standings over Justin McRee of Tuscaloosa, AL, who won his second victory of the season on Saturday night at Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, MS driving the Century Dedicated, Inc. Trak-Star. Williams has 150 points, and McRee has 148 points with two wins and three top five finishes in three starts.

Gauldin has one win and three top five finishes in three starts to total 144 points, and hold a four-point lead in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Old Man’s Garage (OMG) East Region standings over Jimmy Elkins Jr. of Talladega, AL, who has 140 points after one win and two top five finishes in three starts driving the ADP Special.

Michael Arnold of Hattiesburg, MS is third in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series West Region standings with 145 points followed by Larry Murphy of Meridian, MS with 144 points, Landon Frith of Terry, MS with 143 points, and 2008 NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series West Region Champion Jim McDuffie of Meridian, MS with 141 points.

Jered Smith of Hazlehurst, MS is seventh in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series West Region standings with 139 points, Randy Walters of Hattiesburg, MS is eighth with 135 points, Randy Boyd of Marion, MS is ninth with 133 points, and Wiley Williams of Stonewall, MS rounds out the top ten in the West Region standings with 128 points.

In other NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series West Region action in Week 3, Johnny Virden of Russellville, AR took the win on Saturday night at Centerville Speedway in Centerville, AR driving the Bill Frye Racing Rocket, and Billy Flannager Jr. of Tuscumbia, AL was the winner on Saturday night at Greenville Speedway in Greenville, MS driving the Flannager Racing Special.

Grant Box of Monticello, AR picked up his second win of the season on Saturday night in NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series West Region action at Drew County Speedway in Monticello, AR driving the Solar Control Window Tinting Special. Friday night West Region races at Batesville Motor Speedway in Batesville, AR, Hattiesburg Motorsports Park in Hattiesburg, MS, and Malden Speedway in Malden, MO were all rained out.

Mike Combs of Odenville, AL moved up to the third spot in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Old Man’s Garage (OMG) East Region standings with 139 points, followed by Brian Ponder of Talladega, AL with 137 points, Karl Parks of Alpine, AL with 134 points, and Ken Pate of Pell City, AL with 124 points.

Mikey Donahoo of Eastaboga, AL is seventh in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Old Man’s Garage (OMG) East Region standings with 123 points, David Crabtree of Maryville, TN is eighth with 122 points, Greg Martin of Oliver Springs, TN is ninth with 121 points, while Mark Rosner of Maryville, TN and Patrick Duggan of Lenoir City, TN are tied for the tenth spot with 117 points apiece.

In other NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Old Man’s Garage (OMG) East Region in Week 3, Kayne Hickman of Soddy Daisy, TN took the win on Saturday night at Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville, TN driving the A1 Towing Special.

Friday night OMG East Region action at Penton Raceway in Penton, AL was rained out, and with 16 cars ready to race, a blown transformer from Friday night’s storms forced postponement of Saturday night’s races at New Senoia Raceway in Senoia, GA. Flomaton Speedway in Flomaton, AL was also off on Saturday night.

Wins by Williams and McRee gave the defending and two-time NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Chassis Manufacturers Challenge Champion Trak-Star Race Cars built by Boland Performance of Cuba, AL two more points to bring their leading win total up to eight for the season.

Gauldin’s victory gave three-time NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Chassis Manufacturers Challenge Champion GRT Race Cars of Greenbrier, AR its fifth win of the season and the second spot in the standings through Week 3. Virden gave Rocket Chassis of Shinnston, WV its third win of the season and the third spot in the standings.
