CARTERSVILLE, GA – Week 4 of the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series season will see seven events on the schedule for this weekend. There will be a full slate of five races in the Old Man’s Garage (OMG) East Region and two races in the West Region, as several West Region tracks have given the Late Model Division the weekend off in observance of the Easter holiday.

The NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Old Man’s Garage (OMG) East Region Week 4 competition begins this Friday night at Penton Raceway in Penton, AL. Dana Eiland of Salem, AL will be looking for his second straight win this Friday night at Penton Raceway.

Saturday night Old Man’s Garage (OMG) East Region events this weekend are scheduled for Flomaton Speedway in Flomaton, AL, New Senoia Raceway in Senoia, GA, Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville, TN and Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL.

David Odom of Century, FL will be looking for his second straight at Flomaton Speedway, Russ Ogletree of Phenix City, AL will go for his third straight win at New Senoia Raceway, Kayne Hickman of Soddy Daisy, TN will try for his second straight win at Smoky Mountain Speedway, and the OMG East Region point leader Adam Gauldin of Talladega will attempt to double up at Talladega Short Track.

There will be a Friday night race and a Saturday night event in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series West Region this weekend. Malden Speedway in Malden, MO will be in action this Friday night where Kyle Berry will try for his second straight win. On Saturday night, NEA Speedway in Harrisburg, AR will host its season opener for the NeSmith Chevrolet WRS Late Models.

Drivers participating in NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series events compete for prize money at each event, and each track will pay out a point fund at the end of the season. Drivers are also competing for the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Regional point fund that pays $5,000 to the Champion and pays back through the top ten spots in each Region.

A driver’s Regional point total is made up of their best event point total on a weekly basis, plus bonus points earned by perfect attendance at a single track and participating in NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series Touring events. The NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series runs through October 2.

The dirt late model race cars in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series are powered by the economical GM Performance Crate Engines that are built and sealed at the factory to prevent any expensive modifications. There are two engines to choose from, the 400 horsepower aluminum-head 604 engine and the 350 horsepower steel-head 602 engine that gets a 150-pound weight break.
