    Default glide help

Have a internal dd glide I want to switch back to a regular glide for another customer.

It is a unit that required drilling a reverse bleedoff hole (or something familar).

Do I need to plug that hole? If so, what would you recommend?

Still have old valvebody and converter.

Anyone know how to get ahold of Steve "bomber" Adams aka bomber500?

    pm me.

He sold is patents and no longer does transmissions. What gear are you going to race it in?

Any interest in selling the direct drive valve body and coupler?

I just done the same thing with a TCI. All I did was put the stock valve body in and installed a converter. Works great.

Before you go just sticking a vb and torque converter in it take a good look at the pump. I believe that Steve blocked off the feed to the torque converter with a plug.

It been a few years since I have seen one of his transmissions so I could be wrong.

Yes interested in selling clutchless vb and convertor. Lets make it quick. Things are moving fast! pm me and I can send picks or just give address.

This isnt one of Steves glides, just a stock glide with his vb.

The question is, do I need to plug the hole first? Not sure of which gear he will be running. Probably first (1/4mile with 8.5 10bolt)

Its Steves vb with a 10" tci dummy convertor (In box).

    $225.

I am not saying that you have to plug the pump. I am saying that it should already me pluged. They do that to shut off the fliud flow to the converter. You will have to make sure that it is opened back up.

I made the hole. Per vb instructions. ?? Took of the tailshaft garb and drilled it.

sorry to bring up an old thread but I was wondering who I could talk to on here about a powerglide I bought at an auction. the powerglide I bought has the direct drive flange coupler. it also has two lines running out from the front pump that go through a sort of check valve to open and close. my question is why is it like that and how the heck do I use it?

that is a pump bypass more than likely, valve open fluid flows threw probably back to pan.
put it in gear and close the valve, that is like engaging a clutch.
I think there should be lifeguards in the genepool.
