    Richmond Raceway Returns to Action on May 7 with Weekly Racing in All Classes

    RICHMOND, KY (May 2, 2011)-Richmond Raceway track promoters Joey and Tiffany Tackett are ready to get back in action this Saturday Night, May 7 as they present a full racing program for the first time in 2011.

    Having the past two weeks scheduled off and record rainfall forcing cancellations two weeks prior to that, the Tackett’s and their staff are eager to fire the engines again.

    For Saturday, May 7 the pit area opens at 5:30 p.m. followed by the grandstand area at 6:30 p.m. A mandatory driver’s meeting will take place at 6:45 p.m. with hot laps set to get underway at 7:15 p.m. Racing begins at approximately 8:00 p.m.

    Ticket prices in the grandstand area are $12 for adults, $3 for kids ages 6-12, and kids under age 6 are admitted FREE. Pit passes are $25 for adults, $5 for kids ages 6-12 and kids under age 6 are also admitted FREE to the pit area.

    In honor of Mother’s Day, several giveaways are in store for the women in the audience. Some things include purses, tanning packages, gift cards, flower arrangements, tickets to future events including the 24th Annual Paul “Butterball” Wooldridge Memorial, and much more.

    Another new addition to the Richmond Raceway, fans and drivers can now tune their radios to 87.9 FM on race night for live coverage of the evening’s events by our own Michael Shannon, Richmond Raceway Announcer and Wallingford Broadcasting Production Manager.

    Richmond Raceway last raced on April 2, feature event winners that night included Jeff Arnold of Manchester, OH in the Open Wheel Modifieds, Glen Hounshell, Jr. of Berea, KY in the Sportsman, Glen Hounshell, Sr. of Berea, KY in the Road Hogs, and David Barron of Science Hill, KY in the Four Cylinders.
