The MARS DIRTcar Series gets rolling again this weekend with the first of two scheduled appearances at the Springfield Raceway in Springfield, MO on Saturday May 14, 2011 for the John Kuntz Memorial presented by Andy’s Frozen Custard.

6-time and defending MARS champion Terry Phillips of Springfield, MO won last year’s event and will lead a strong contingent of racers into action including current MARS point leader Brad Looney of Republic, MO; Jesse Stovall of Galena, MO; Tony Jackson Jr. of Lebanon, MO; Jeremy Payne of Springfield, MO; RC Whitwell of Tucson, AZ; Brandon McCormick of Lebanon, MO; Leroy Johnson of Springfield, MO; Eric Turner of Springfield, MO, Tommy Weder Jr. of Woodward, OK; Darrell Mooneyham of Verona, MO; Al Purkey of Coffeyville, KS; Kyle Berck of Marquette, NE; Gary Christian of Broken Bow, OK; Kelly Boen of Henderson, CO; Shane Essary of Aurora, MO: Justin Asplin and many more.

John Kuntz, founder of Andy's Frozen Custard, was an avid race fan and big supporter to the local racing scene is honored and remembered at the First Super Late Model event at the Springfield Raceway.

In addition to MARS this race will be co-sanctioned with the MLRA Series. The event will also feature the Transport Graphics Championship chase for the USRA RHS Budweiser A-Mods, Reliable Chevrolet Sport Mods, Casey's General Stores Midwest Modz and the Missouri Legend cars. Pit passes for this event will be $35.00. Grandstand admission will be $20.00 for Adults and the grandstands will open at 5PM. Pit Gates for this event will open at 3:00 with local divisions drivers meeting at 5:45 and hot laps at 6:15, racing is slated to start at 7PM.
