CARTERSVILLE, GA – NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Week 7 competition will feature 11 races in five states. There are seven events on the schedule in the West Region, and four races on tap in the Old Man’s Garage (OMG) East Region.

The West Region action begins on Friday night with races scheduled for Malden Speedway in Malden, MO, Batesville Motor Speedway in Batesville, AR, and Hattiesburg Motorsports Park in Hattiesburg, MS. Malden Speedway will attempt to race after four straight rain outs and five rain outs in the past six weeks, as flooding has been a major problem in Southeast Missouri.

Saturday night NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series West Region events will be highlighted by a $1,000-to-win race at Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, MS. Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS will hold its first West Region event of the season on Saturday night.

Centerville Speedway in Centerville, AR and Greenville Speedway in Greenville, MS will also be in action on Saturday night with West Region races. Landon Frith of Terry, MS is the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series West Region point leader going into Week 7 competition.

The NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Old Man’s Garage (OMG) East Region Week 7 competition begins on Friday night at Penton Raceway in Penton, AL. Three Saturday night Old Man’s Garage (OMG) East Region events are scheduled, including Flomaton Speedway in Flomaton, AL, where Kevin Maher of McDavid, FL will be going for his third straight win.

NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Old Man’s Garage (OMG) East Region point leader Jimmy Elkins Jr. of Talladega, AL will be going for his second straight win and third of the season on Saturday night at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL. Saturday night NeSmith Chevrolet WRS OMG Saturday night action is also set for New Senoia Raceway in Senoia, GA.

Drivers will be tuning up this Friday night at Penton Raceway and on Saturday night at New Senoia Raceway for a pair of NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series Touring events on May 20 at Penton Raceway with a 40-lap $2,000-to-win event, and on May 21 at New Senoia Raceway with a 50-lap $2,500-to-win event.

Drivers participating in NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series events compete for prize money at each event, and each track will pay out a point fund at the end of the season. Drivers are also competing for the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Regional point fund that pays $5,000 to the Champion and pays back through the top ten spots in each Region.

A driver’s Regional point total is made up of their best event point total on a weekly basis, plus bonus points earned by perfect attendance at a single track and participating in NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series Touring events. The NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series runs through October 2.

The dirt late model race cars in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series are powered by the economical GM Performance Crate Engines that are built and sealed at the factory to prevent any expensive modifications. There are two engines to choose from, the 400 horsepower aluminum-head 604 engine and the 350 horsepower steel-head 602 engine that gets a 150-pound weight break.
