AMS Mod Squad Bash Weathered Out at Bluegrass Speedway; Reset for June 4

Bardstown, KY-May 14, 2011- With off and on rain showers falling in and around the area and more forecasted to be on the way, Bluegrass Speedway track promoters David and Anita Ferrell have decided to cancel the 11th Annual Mod Squad Bash scheduled for this evening May 14. The event has been rescheduled for Saturday June 4.

“I hate to throw the towel in this quick, but with rain already having fell in and around us and with more predicted, we felt it was best to go ahead and cancel the event for today,” stated Bluegrass Speedway track co-promoter David Ferrell. “We did not want to get in a situation where if we tried to go ahead and race and then it rained, you would have the race teams and race fans out a lot of money in travel for gas, plus with our curfew of 11:00 p.m., we feel that this is the best call for us to make and hope everyone will join us for the make-up date on June 4”, added Ferrell.

The next event on the Bluegrass Speedway schedule is a $300 to special event for UMP Street Stocks on Saturday May 21. Also on the May 21 race program will be the 44 Auto Mart Super Late Models, Country 100.9 MIKE FM UMP Modifieds, and Clayton Homes of Stanford UMP Sportsman. As an added attraction on the May 21 racing program, the Compacts (Front Wheel Drive) division will make their first ever appearance at Bluegrass Speedway.

Bluegrass Speedway is located at 2221 New Haven Road at the intersection of Kentucky Highway 31-E and exit 21 of the Martha Layne Collins (Bluegrass) Parkway. David and Anita Ferrell are the track promoters and present dirt track sports entertainment on Saturday evenings from mid-April through September. For more information about Bluegrass Speedway, visit the track’s webpage on the internet at www.bluegrass-speedway.com or phone (502) 349-1241 on raceday.
